Outgoing fellowships give a possibility to go abroad from Estonia for shorter or longer study and research visits.

PhD studies abroad (website in Estonian) Application is open to all citizens of EU and to permanent residence of Estonia. Applicants must have been accepted for enrolling PhD studies in a foreign university. Kristjan Jaak Scholarships (website in Estonian) Scholarships are available to Masters’ students and PhD students of Estonian universities for long-term and mid-term study and research trips (1 year or 1-5 months). Fulbright Scholar Program for Estonian Citizen offers research grants in all fields, except for medical studies. These are grants for Estonians to conduct research at universities or special libraries/collections in the United States. Candidates may be university teachers or researchers, or professionals whose expertise would be enhanced by further study or research in their field.

Sciex Exchange Programme is the promotion tool for research teams from all disciplines, consisting of team-members from the EU10 and Switzerland. Sciex Fellows from the EU10 (including  BGR, CZE, EST, HUN, LTU, LVA, POL, ROU, SVK, SVN) pursue their research in cooperation with Swiss researchers in Swiss research institutions. Sciex is part of the Swiss Contribution to the New Member States of the EU.

BAFF Research Scholar Program is meant to foster the exchange of ideas between the Baltic States and the U.S. and to stimulate international collaboration and research efforts.
